During the 2015 Super Bowl, Legendary Pictures introduced a little more of the plot for “Jurassic World,” and quite frankly, I”m not sure I can believe humans are this stupid.
Trust me, I”m usually on board with Albert Einstein”s quote, “Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former,” but this is getting ridiculous.
At first, I was on board with this sequel. More dinosaurs on the big screen? Sign me up! But this commercial is the first time I”ve felt like pumping the breaks.
Time out. Is this commercial saying that scientists would create a a perfect killing machine in order to “safe-scare” tourists, like theme parks do with roller coasters?
I”m willing to believe that humans would be stupid enough to think bringing dinosaurs back from extinction is a good idea. I”m willing to believe tourists would pay top dollar to see these dinosaurs. I”m even willing to believe that velociraptors are big enough Clever Girls™ to interact with and be taught that humans are friends, not food.
But I draw the line at Bryce Dallas Howard having no qualms with making a genetic Shake-n-Bake carnivore the newest draw instead of any of the hundreds of pre-existing non-human-eating species to pick from.
Unless…is Bryce Dallas Howard”s character secretly against playing God? And the only way to shut the facility down for good is to screw up so badly that no one will ever try again?
“Jurassic World” roars into theaters on June 12, 2015.
