This ‘Star Wars’ Prequel Actor Would Sign Up For the New Trilogy ‘In a Heartbeat’

Before Star Wars: The Force Awakens even had a title, Ewan McGregor said he'd be happy to return as Obi-Wan Kenobi if they needed him. And then they gave him a call and he sort of spilled a big secret so he's probably safe to hang up his Jedi robes. But this time it was another prequel star who was asked about a return to the franchise.

A Hayden Christensen interview with eTalk was posted to YouTube back in March but recently discovered by Digital Spy. During the talk, the actor was asked about the new trilogy.

“I'm very excited to see what happens with it. I'm sure they'll take it to very interesting places,” said Christensen. “But you know I'm keeping my tabs on it. They sort of keep my abreast of it a little bit as to what's going on in that world but I don't have any involvement in the movies anymore. But they were obviously a big part of my life for a little while so I'm very curious.”

You may recall the book The Art of Star Wars: The Force Awakens revealed Christensen's Force ghost could have had a part in J.J. Abrams' film. We now know that didn't come to pass but the actor is definitely still open to returning.

“Oh yeah, absolutely. Yeah, no, in a heartbeat, for sure,” he told eTalk. “Being a part of that world was a huge deal for me, and was a good four, five years of my life. I have fond memories and good friendships from that whole time. But I don't know, if they ever gave me the call, I would sign up in a heartbeat.”

The Star Wars conversation starts at 12:38 in the video below.
