Brock Lesnar Was Backstage At Raw, But WWE Didn’t Use Him To Save The Show

I’ll leave the in-depth review to Brandon, but last night’s Raw was… not great. It wouldn’t have been a good episode of Raw at any time, but dammit, we’re on The Road to WrestleMania. This is usually the one time of year when we’re guaranteed important events and people on Raw, but nope, this episode may as well have been building to TLC or Battleground for all the excitement it generated.

Well, get ready to get super frustrated. Turns out, WWE actually flew Brock Lesnar in for the show, and then they opted not to use the guy for some reason. That’s right, they intentionally didn’t use their one guaranteed show-saver on that Raw. There are rumors circulating that there may be “more to the story,” and that Brock not being on the show may not have exactly been by choice. We’ll see how the story develops.

Oh, and if you’re hoping for more Brock as the Road to WrestleMania rolls on, well, keep dreaming. Brock is advertised for only two shows before WrestleMania, the March 9 Raw from Pittsburgh and the WrestleMania go-home Raw from Los Angeles.

I continue to be astounded by how poorly WWE has handled the Brock Lesnar situation. They could have easily had Brock on every PPV and saved up enough dates for a decent build to WrestleMania, but they’ve pissed away countless appearances by having the guy do nothing. Remember when he popped up a couple weeks ago to just stand beside Paul Heyman while he cut a brief promo? Why did that happen? As much as I love Brock, I’m eager for a new champion. Watching WWE try to figure out how to use a calendar is just too painful.
