Were you underwhelmed by the NXT content in last year’s WWE 2K15? Do you wish you could’ve resolved your problems with the game by putting on bat wings, painting your neck to look like a monster mouth and crawling to the ring to Final Fantasy boss music?
Good news for fans of… everything I just mentioned, as NXT star Finn Bálor is among the names confirmed for the upcoming WWE 2K16, advertised as having the “largest roster in WWE video games history.”
Via a press release from 2K, with a h/t to Inquisitr:
“2K today announced the first six roster members in WWE 2K16, the forthcoming release in the flagship WWE video game franchise. Poised to offer the largest playable roster in WWE games history, WWE 2K16 will include a variety of talent, including WWE Superstars Seth Rollins™, Daniel Bryan®, Dean Ambrose™ and Bad News Barrett™, WWE Diva Paige™ and NXT® Superstar Finn Bálor™. Artwork depicting the roster members is currently on display from June 16-18, 2015 in 2K’s booth, #1001 in the South Hall, at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles. Additional announcements for WWE 2K16 are expected within the coming weeks.”
And the promotional roster pic:
Here’s to hoping that “largest roster ever” saves spots for people who are actually on the active roster, and we have the Prime Time Players and Heath Slater and Emma or whoever and not 15 alternate costumes for Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Regardless, getting to play as Finn Bálor will be worth the price of the game on its own, assuming you can summon The Demon for your big matches.
Who else from the NXT roster do you want to see? Last year, we got Corey Graves, Sami Zayn and “Adrian” Neville. Hopefully this year, we’ll get way more than three, and the prospect of doing Kevin Owens vs. Aiden English or whatever won’t be an impossibility. Who do I have to talk to to confirm a Tyler Breeze?
