Heartbreaking news out of New York on Thursday as former WWE Diva Ashley Massaro, best known for winning the 2005 Diva search, has died. She was only 39 years old.

While there are no details yet on what caused Ashley’s death, The Blast is reporting that it’s being classified as non-criminal.

The Suffolk County Medical Examiner in New York tells The Blast, Massaro died Thursday and was brought to the medical examiner’s office. We’re told the death is currently under investigation, but officials would not say more at this time.

Law enforcement sources tell us a “rescue call” came in at 5:23 AM to her home in Smithtown and was transported to a local hospital, where she passed away. We’re told police believe no foul play was committed, and are classifying the death as “non-criminal.”

Massaro performed for WWE between 2005 and 2008, competing at two WrestleManias, once in a WWE Women’s Championship match against Melina at WrestleMania 23, and again as part of the Playboy Bunnymania Lumberjill match at WrestleMania XXIV. She also represented WWE on the cover of Playboy in 2007, and made various appearances on television shows like Smallville and Survivor: China.

It’s absolutely heartbreaking to report the death of someone so young, and our heart goes out to Massaro’s friends and family.
