Chris Jericho’s match with Dean Ambrose at Extreme Rules was a clusterf*ck that, depending on who you ask, was either thoroughly entertaining or a drawn out mess of a match. The climax came when Chris Jericho got dropped on a pile of thumbtacks. Jericho spent most of the match being a caricature of a heel and making insane facial expressions, so it was only right that he’d go absolutely crazy during the thumbtack spot. The image has now become a meme for all the Internet to enjoy and photoshop.

Jericho got in on the act and posted his own memes on Instagram, so it’s good to know that he has a good sense of humor about it all. For what it’s worth, Jericho spoke about the match on his podcast and said the actual back bump wasn’t as bad as the DDT spot where he got three tacks lodged into his hand. In the end, he said there were 69 tacks in all. Ouch. It’s also surprising that the McMahon family approved such a violent spot in the “PG Era.” Anyway, here are Jericho’s contributions.
