The 2016 Royal Rumble got off to an outstanding start with the Last Man Standing match between Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens for the Intercontinental Championship. The match was rather brutal, as Ambrose and Owens kept going to town on each other with chairs, kendo sticks, and other objects.
The match ended with Ambrose sending Owens through two tables that were stacked on top of one another outside of the ring. Owens went to the top rope for a moonsault when Ambrose pushed him off the top turnbuckle, sending him flying into the tables and rendering him unable to answer the referee’s 10 count.
If you didn’t like that Owens didn’t win, don’t worry – he said on the preshow that he’s going to appear in the Royal Rumble match a little later.
