WWE Payback got off to a horrible start, as the No. 1 contender for the tag titles between Enzo and Cass and The Vaudevillains ended in a no contest. Early in the match, Simon Gotch tried to throw Enzo out of the ring under the bottom rope, but Enzo’s head hit one of the ropes awkwardly and shook him up.
It looked really ugly, and after getting examined by the official, the match was stopped. Personnel came down from the back and were in the process of strapping Enzo to a stretcher before the cameras cut away. He ended up getting stretchered to the back, according to people who are at the event.
