In Case You Missed It, Jeff Hardy Fell Off A Damn Cage This Weekend

Jeff Hardy took a nasty spill at Friday night’s Impact Wrestling tapings, because that’s what Jeff Hardy does. TMZ shared fan footage of the fall, and this is what they had to say:

Impact Wrestling star Jeff Hardy was KO’ed in frightening fashion Friday night in New York … and TMZ has learned the very painful looking fall left him pretty banged up.

The famous wrestler climbed to the top of a cage during a match at the Manhattan Center … but when he was knocked off by an opponent — sources say the fall didn’t go as planned.

We’re told Jeff was supposed to land on the ground — instead, he hit the steel steps and was knocked out cold. Hardy eventually regained consciousness … but was left in a lot of pain.

After the match, Hardy got checked out by doctors for IMPACT — which now airs on Destination America — plus he’s made an appointment this week to get his head scanned by a specialist.

TMZ probably doesn’t actually watch Impact, so here are a couple of things to make you feel better.

1. It might actually be impossible for someone to accidentally hit the ring steps in TNA. TNA is all about their ring steps spots. They love them. They do ’em all the time. It’s also impossible to plan a spot where you swing out on an open cage door and fall to the floor, but expect to not hit the steps that’d be positioned directly under the door.

2. TNA is headed to the UK at the end of the month and Jeff isn’t legally allowed to travel with them, so they have to come up with a reason for Jeff to get “injured” right before they leave. Otherwise, fans in the UK might wonder where he is. “He fell off a cage and hurt his brain” is more fantastic and easier to explain than “he can’t wrestle here because crimes.”

We wish you a speedy kayfabe recovery, Jeff, and hope you don’t accidentally become a psychotic forest nymph this time.
