Here’s a spoiler alert that isn’t really spoilery at all: Everybody in the world has a San Diego Comic-Con panel now. July’s annual supernova of pop culture has expanded to levels nearing self-parody, so while you were in line for Hall H hoping to see one of Chris Hardwick’s 400 scheduled events this weekend, maybe you missed NXT’s panel tucked away in a corner. Sure, they had to share a room with Hot in Cleveland or whatever, but don’t worry, pictures and video are emerging from the event that suggest it was a pretty fun deal. Also, Kevin Owens is an A-hole of the highest degree, but I think we knew that by now.
The full lineup for the panel consisted of Owens, NXT Champion Finn Bálor, Sami Zayn and Charlotte, with NXT general manager William Regal handling moderator duties. Owens was very vocal during the whole process, including during the reveal of new NXT action figures.
Harsh. But of course, we had to touch on The Feud That Never Ends (And Never Should). Sami Zayn, no longer sporting a sling, was asked to give an update on the status of his shoulder — he says he’ll be ready to go in “late 2015/early 2016,” which resulted in Owens setting new world-record marks in the field of sarcastic applause.

Owens also went on to say that he wants his legacy to be marked by beating Sami Zayn to the full-time main roster. While we’re all foaming at the mouth waiting for this rivalry to be the centerpiece of Monday Night Raw, there’s also the matter of the NXT Championship. Good news on that front as well…
Hey Finn, while you’re in San Diego, you might want to meet with the Marvel people and start asking about the rights to the Carnage character. It worked at Wrestle Kingdom, it’ll probably work in Brooklyn.
