Kurt Angle has always been perhaps the most tongue-in-cheek “American hero” character in wrestling history. Pompous, entitled, conceited, egotistical, selfish, rude and delusional. Maybe it makes perfect sense, then, that he would debut a new T-shirt and video parodying Donald Trump’s notorious slogan.
Angle isn’t the first wrestler to parody The Donald’s presidential campaign slogan, but as far as I know, he is the first person to do so for charity, which is definitely admirable. The sale of these shirts will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, which is absolutely a cause we can all get behind.
It’s not the most obvious pairing and partnership, and a “Let’s Make Wrestling Great Again” shirt seems a little weird to be a thing for donating to cancer research, but hey! Any good cause is a good cause, regardless. And with Kurt Angle going on a whirlwind tour of the worldwide indies following his TNA tenure, wrestling dream matches with opponents like Rey Mysterio and Cody Rhodes, he is certainly doing his part to make wrestling great again.
Another thing that would make wrestling great again: free ice cream sandwiches to all fans! Come on, people. Let’s make this happen.
