The New York Mets may be down 2-0 to the Kansas City Royals in the World Series, but they’re not done yet. All they and their fans need is a pep talk from the late, great “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. It doesn’t get much more inspirational than the Hot Rod turning face via baseball and causing an arena full of booing wrestling fans to cheer so loud it makes him scream.
As much as we miss Piper, it’s comforting to know that the guy talked so much you can find footage of him saying almost anything. He’s like a Wikipedia of shouting.
If somebody doesn’t forward this post to the Mets and get this clip played in the locker room on Friday afternoon, I don’t know what to say. Keep your Rocky Balboa speeches about getting hit hard and moving forward, give me Wilmer Flores getting so hyped by a 30-year old WWF live arena promo that he bashes Alcides Escobar in the head with a coconut and sprays Noah Syndergaard with a fire extinguisher.
