Have you always wondered what WWE superstars like Triple H, John Cena, and The Undertaker would look like if they turned into animated penguins? Well, today is your lucky day, because according to the Hollywood Reporter, WWE is teaming up with Sony to produce the lazily-titled “Surf’s Up 2: WaveMania.”
The sequel to the 2007 flick will trade in the likes of Jeff Bridges and Zooey Deschanel for Vince McMahon and Paige, and while the lead character of Cody Maverick is set to return, it’s probably a safe bet that elevator performance artist Shia LaBeouf will not be reprising his role. Here is the bonkers plot summary.
In the follow-up to the 2007 feature, adventure-inclined penguin Cody Maverick convinces an infamous big wave riding crew known as The Hang 5, voiced by WWE superstars John Cena, The Undertaker, Triple H, WWE Diva Paige and Mr. McMahon, to journey with him to a mysterious surf spot known as The Trenches, where the crew will supposedly find the biggest waves in the world.
This is obviously amazing on multiple levels and I have so many questions.
Are the characters in the movie supposed to be animated animal versions of their WWE personas? If so, is it kayfabe? I so want the reason why The Undertaker is willing to fight for Vince McMahon at WrestleMania to be that they had a really fun time riding some waves together back in their trenches days.
DOES THE UNDERTAKER HAVE A COFFIN FOR A SURFBOARD THAT IS AMAZING.
Why is Mr. McMahon the only character that’s not a penguin?
What other aquatic animals would each WWE superstar and diva be cast as? Bayley is obviously a dolphin, that much I know for sure.
