Back in December, we covered the incredible story of Panther Girl, a wrestler from the 1960s who overcame physical abuse, crooked trainers and promoters, and getting shot for helping to take down a drug ring to defeat The Fabulous Moolah and become the top champion in the country.
It turns out, Channing “C-Tates” Tatum was just as impressed with Ann “Panther Girl” Casey’s story as we were at With Spandex, and his 33 & Out production company has optioned the rights of the story into a movie, according to Variety:
“Maysh has quickly become one of the more popular writers among studio execs, with several of his articles currently in development. He recently optioned his Victory Journal article “The Legend of the Panther Girl” to Channing Tatum and Reid Carolin’s 33 and Out production company”
The original story didn’t have a ton of men, so I can only hope that Tatum ends up playing Elvis Presley, who went backstage to meet Panther Girl and gave her a smooch on the cheek.
