WWE 2K15 had its share of shortcomings, but none hurt quite as badly as the game’s severely hobbled creation suite. Dreaming up your own ridiculous (and ridiculously offensive) creations is really the core of any good wrestling game, and the fact that 2K15‘s Create-A-Superstar mode was barely functional was glaring evidence the developers had their priorities in the wrong place.
Well, thankfully it looks like 2K Games have got their heads screwed on straight, because the WWE 2K16 creation suite appears to be massively improved over last year’s effort. First off, it looks as if the constant loading that plagued last year’s game is gone. Hallelujah! Also, Create-a-Diva, Create-a-Championship, Create-an-Arena and Create-an-Entrance all make their triumphant return. Hell, we even get an the all-new Create-a-Show option this year.
Of all the WWE 2K16 trailers I’ve showed you, this one is the most important. If a wrestling game’s creation suite is good enough, it doesn’t really matter which characters are included, or what shows are covered in Showcase mode. Make the Four Horsewomen yourself! Recreate your favorite obscure PPVs! This year, it looks like that might actually be an option, and suddenly I’m a lot more excited for this game. What about you?
