Sunday night’s WWE TLC pay-per-view ended with a bang, as WWE World Champion AJ Styles let it all hang out (including his butt) while retaining his title in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match against Dean Ambrose. Unfortunately, it appears as though Styles did not escape from the match completely unscathed. (To say nothing of his poor, now nearly-ass-less pants.)
Fans in the arena reported that after the match, Styles was helped in the ring by medical staff, as they looked at his foot and Styles moved it around. Styles left the ring and walked to the back under his own power, although he was said to have been limping noticeably.
On Monday, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported that Styles had indeed suffered a minor ankle injury, but at this time it is unclear whether it will keep him out of action, or for how long, or whether he will end up working a lighter schedule on television and live events leading up to the Royal Rumble.
Fans also reported that Dean Ambrose was helped to the back by officials, but that is almost certainly a kayfabe selling of the TLC war that he had gone through … one which ended with him falling off a ladder and going through some tables, courtesy of the coward James Ellsworth.
