The show featured a number of championship matches, the Money in the Bank ladder match and a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. WWE Money in the Bank 2016 Results:
1. Kickoff Match: Golden Truth defeated Breezango. Goldust pinned Fandango after a Final Cut.
2. The Lucha Dragons defeated The Dudley Boyz. Sin Cara pinned Bubba Ray Dudley after a Salida del Sol from Kalisto and a swanton bomb.
3. Fatal Four-way for the Tag Team Championship: The New Day (c) defeated The Vaudevillains, Enzo Amore and Big Cass, and The Club. The Club hit a Magic Killer on Aiden English. New Day then hit Karl Anderson with the Midnight Hour and pinned English.
4. Baron Corbin defeated Dolph Ziggler. Corbin pinned Ziggler after End of Days.
5. Charlotte and Dana Brooke defeated Natalya and Becky Lynch. Charlotte pinned Natalya after Natural Selection. After the match, Natalya turned on Becky Lynch.
6. Apollo Crews defeated Sheamus. Sheamus hit White Noise from the second rope, but only got two. While he was complaining to the referee, Crews surprised him with a crucifix pin.
7. AJ Styles defeated John Cena. The referee got knocked out during an AA attempt from Cena. Cena had the match won, but The Club showed up, hit a Magic Killer and pulled Styles onto Cena.
8. Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Dean Ambrose defeated Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, Sami Zayn, Cesaro and Alberto Del Rio.
9. United States Championship Match: Rusev (c) defeated Titus O’Neil. Rusev won by submission with The Accolade. After the match, Rusev got in O’Neil’s children’s faces at ringside and told them their dad was a loser.
10. WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match: Seth Rollins defeated Roman Reigns (c). Reigns went for a spear, but Rollins countered with a Pedigree for a close nearfall. Rollins hit another Pedigree to pin Reigns and win back the WWE World Heavyweight Championship he never lost. After the match, Dean Ambrose ambushed Rollins and cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase.
11. WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match: Dean Ambrose defeated Seth Rollins (c). Ambrose quickly hit Dirty Deeds and pinned Rollins to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
