There are a lot of ex-TNA talents in NXT right now. Samoa Joe was the first two-time NXT Champion, and Bobby Roode, Austin Aries, and Eric Young are some of the hottest acts in the promotion. Oh yeah, and some dude named AJ Styles is the danged WWE Champion and the best wrestler in the company. So yeah, Impact Wrestling is well-represented in WWE these days.
But if you decide to start a cheeky “TNA” chant at an NXT event, you reap what you sow. At the recent NXT Sydney show during the Yellow Brand’s tour of Australia, a small group of fans decided to do just that prior to the main event that saw Joe and Roode teaming with Elias Samson against Shinsuke Nakamura, Tye Dillinger, and Buddy Murphy.
As you can see in the above video, Joe looked derisively at the chanters, before offering a thumbs down, followed by a very non-PG wanking motion. To top it all off, he made the international Johnny Manziel “money” motion with both hands while yelling, “Pay me my money!” All to the delight of the crowd, including said chanters. It’s unclear whether he means he’s making more money in WWE, or if TNA actually still owes him money. Neither would be exceptionally surprising.
At any rate, kudos to Samoa Joe for having the most entertaining possible response to an obnoxious chant. It’s like I always say: never chant.
