WWE Raw Results 5/15/17

Here are your quick and dirty, editorial-free WWE Raw results for May 15, 2017. This week’s episode featured an Intercontinental Championship match, and explored what happens in a barren, post-Braun Strowman universe.

WWE Raw Results:

— The show opened with Kurt Angle explaining that Braun Strowman shattered his angle and required surgery, and that he may be out for up to six months. Angle asked who will now challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship, and he believes the opportunity should be earned. He said at Extreme Rules, and a No. 1 contender would be determined via a Fatal 5-Way Extreme Rules match. The five competitors will be Seth Rollins, Samoa Joe, Finn Bálor, Bray Wyatt, and Roman Reigns.

Angle went to leave the ring, but Reigns came out. He said he’s the No. 1 contender because this is his yard. He was then interrupted by Bálor, who once again said he never lost his title. Reigns said Bálor doesn’t have the killer instinct to beat Lesnar, and Bálor pointed out he beat Reigns on his first night on Raw. Samoa Joe then came out and staked his claim. Wyatt then appeared, and was interrupted by Rollins. Rollins said there will be plenty of time to talk, but the crowd didn’t come here for talk, they came for fighting. Joe and Rollins fought on the ramp, and then all five fought each other. Bálor took out Reigns and Rollins with a dive and was the last man standing.

1. Jeff Hardy defeated Sheamus. Hardy was able to pin Sheamus after hitting him with a Swanton Bomb.

2. Alicia Fox defeated Sash Banks. Fox hit a scissors kick and got the pin.

3. Intercontinental Championship Match: The Miz defeated Dean Ambrose (c) by disqualification. Ambrose kicked out of the Skull Crushing Finale, and avoided Maryse and Miz attempting to cheat, but hit Miz with a low blow in retaliation, and got disqualified as a result.

— Alexa Bliss was in the ring to cut a promo, and said she is the goddess of WWE. She was interrupted by Bayley, who confronted her. The confrontation turned physical, and Alexa produced a kendo stick from under the ring and hit Bayley with it.

— Backstage, The Miz complained to Kurt Angle, who set up an Intercontinental Championship rematch at Extreme Rules, but with the stipulation that the title can change hands on a disqualification.

4. TJP and Neville defeated Jack Gallagher and Austin Aries. Neville held Gallagher’s leg, allowing TJP to hit an avalanche and a Detonation Kick to get the pin.

— Backstage, Kurt Angle made a Kendo Stick On A Pole match between Alexa Bliss and Bayley at Extreme Rules.

5. Roman Reigns defeated Finn Bálor. Reigns managed to knock Bálor off the top rope as he went for the Coup de Grace, then hit a spear and scored the pinfall victory.

— Golden Truth made their entrance, and then Goldust attacked R-Truth and beat him down outside and inside the ring, then told Truth “That’s what’s up.”

— Enzo Amore and Big Cass made their entrance, but they were interrupted by Titus O’Neil and Apollo Crews. Titus said Apollo would beat Enzo, but Big Cass said Crews isn’t facing Amore, Titus is facing Big Cass.

6. Big Cass defeated Titus O’Neil. Titus had to wrestle in his suit, because he wasn’t prepared. Enzo distracted O’Neil and Cass hit a big boot to get the pin. After the match, Enzo went to take a selfie with Titus’ phone and Apollo hit him with an enzuigiri.

7. Seth Rollins defeated Bray Wyatt by disqualification. When the fight spilled to the outside late in the match, Samoa Joe appeared to attack Rollins, drawing the disqualification.

— After the match, Joe and Wyatt had a staredown, then teamed up to both put the boots to Rollins. Wyatt then hit both Joe and Rollins with Sisters Abigail.
