If you don’t know the name Shinsuke Nakamura just yet — or Nak, for the initiated — then you’re going to get to know him very soon. Right now, WWE is touring in Japan, the home of Nakamura, and he came out to one of the best wrestling ring entrances of the year.
Nak always has a great ring entrance, to be honest, but when you add the spectacle of his gesticulations, the lights, and the awesome music, to thousands of Japanese fans who are awaiting the return of their hero, then you have something special.
Nakamura is a once-in-a-lifetime talent, and that’s rarely a tag I give to anyone in the wrestling industry. You have to have the whole package: promos, athleticism, theatrics. But, you also have to have that intangible something, that special quality that makes people stand on their feet to cheer you or jump over the guardrails to beat you. Nak has that special quality in spades, and to see him doing so well in WWE — so far, at least — after watching him blossom into a superstar in Japan, is such an amazing thing to be a part of.
He’s on the global stage now, the biggest show there is. And he’s shining like the star we all knew he could be. Go get ’em, Nak.
