Alliances have been formed over the past few weeks in the SmackDown LIVE women’s division, but friendship will be thrown out the window when Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Natalya, Carmella and Tamina square off in a Fatal 5-Way Elimination Match to determine who will challenge SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi at WWE Money in the Bank. Our five-point preview:
1. Four members of the Smackdown Live women’s division will compete in a Fatal Five-Way match tonight. Becky Lynch, on the other hand, will likely be competing in a Fightal Five-Way match tonight.
2. After weeks of buildup, the New Day finally made their Smackdown Live debut — sort of. Xavier Woods, Big E and Kofi Kingston popped up on Talking Smack (with a new box of Booty-Os in hand, natch) last week, so presumably, we get them on the USA Network tonight, possibly getting cited by the Fashion Police for their wrestling gear.
3. Mojo Rawley hasn’t been in a televised match in weeks. Betcha didn’t even realize it! He’s been matching up with Aiden English on the house-show circuit, though, so don’t be surprised if those two run into each other backstage to set something up tonight.
4. Handsome Rusev has still not appeared on Smackdown since the Superstar Shake-Up. There’s no Stanley Cup finals game tonight, though, so maybe the big guy will take off his Nashville Predators jersey for a night and make an appearance. Fingers crossed.
5. Shinsuke Nakamura will be referred to as “The Artist” no less than seven times over the course of a two-hour broadcast.
