The University of Miami fired its football team’s head coach on Sunday. It seemed like he was going to last a little while longer, but after getting stomped at home by Clemson, the school parted ways with Al Golden, whose time at The U could best be described as “tumultuous.”
While a lot of former players are happy with the decision, there is a bit of an issue: right now, the program doesn’t have a coach. Its new coach probably has to have an inherent understanding of the program and be a big enough name to warrant such a high-profile job.
Enter The Rock.
That’s right, if there’s anyone who is probably perfect for the Hurricanes, it could be Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. In addition to playing for Miami and winning a national title with the ‘Canes in 1991, he has given money to the school and never been shy in supporting the program. Some people on Twitter think he’d be perfect for the job.

I think Dan Campbell coaching The Fins & @TheRock coaching the U would make MIAMI the toughest city in the world. I am all for it

If the Miami coaching search comes down to The Rock and Ed Reed, bring them both on.

WWE decided to get in on the fun as well, offering up a poll about whether or not the People’s Champ should get the Miami gig.
So far, 49 percent of the votes say “Yes,” while “He should return to compete for the WWE Wold Heavyweight Championship” is in second place with 40 percent. Unfortunately for everyone who wants to see the Brahma Bull on the sidelines at Miami, he doesn’t seem like he’s up for the job.
Need to create a culture that's TRULY hungry for greatness. Not just winning, but greatness. We'll find that coach💪🏾 https://t.co/CLkkRM5nnz

Thank you @WWE fam! We'll find our coach who's hungry for greatness. Not just winning. Big difference. #Legacy #TheU https://t.co/Umo2CUKGpz

Never say never, of course, but it looks like it’s more likely that we’ll see The Rock competing at Wrestlemania 32 than watching him coach The U anytime soon.
