Former WWE Wrestler Zach Gowen Will Compete On ‘American Ninja Warrior’ Next Week

Gowen

Hey, remember Zach Gowen? The one-legged wrestler had a cup of coffee in the WWE in 2003, but still managed to have matches with the likes of Mr. McMahon, John Cena and Brock Lesnar. Rowdy Roddy Piper also once tried to rip his real leg off in the middle of a segment, so he has a heck of a resume for someone who was around less than a year. He’s continued his wrestling career on the independent scene ever since, popping up in places like Ring of Honor, TNA, and JCW.

He’s also teamed up with Gregory Irons, who has Cerebral Palsy, to form the “Handicapped Heroes” and you may remember them from the time they helped a young fan in a wheelchair experience their dream of being part of a wrestling show back in 2012. The two have also launched the “Wrestling for Warriors” nonprofit which is designed to help kids with disabilities.

Now, Gowen is continuing to defy the odds by appearing on an upcoming episode of American Ninja Warrior according to his tag team partner’s Twitter.

One might think that running the American Ninja Warrior course on one leg would be impossible, but people probably said the same thing about being a pro wrestler, so I’m not putting anything past him.
