Happy Friday, everybody! Time for a new installment of Ask Alan, where I take your questions about the past, present, and future of TV.
First up, we revisit the eternal (or, at least, recent) debate about watching shows weekly versus bingeing entire seasons (or even series) by talking about series that I think play much better one at a time, rather than all in a row. The question was about current shows, but going back a little further in time, both Mad Men and The Sopranos were very much meant to be savored with space in between.
Next, a questioner tries to get me to break from the TV critic hivemind by talking about prestige TV shows I never got as excited about as some of my bretheren.
And finally, a discussion from a few podcasts ago (and remember that you can now subscribe to TV Avalanche on iTunes and Stitcher) about how Better Call Saul fans respond to Kim and Chuck versus how Breaking Bad viewers responded to Skyler prompted a follow-up question so I could elaborate on the Chuck vs. Skyler difference.
