Neil DeGrasse Tyson Dropped A Pretty Good Joke On Twitter, But Not Everyone Was In On It

B.O.B. nemesis/noted science communicator Neil deGrasse Tyson had a charming tweet about the horrors of climate change today. No really, check out the quip above and see if it’s to your liking. If you had a light chuckle of “iPad? oh you rascal!” this tweet was made for you. If you immediately picked up an American flag and started screaming “LIBERTY” in a rage thinking he doesn’t know Lady Liberty, well, it’s not so funny to you.

(Sarah Palin’s camp would also likely find the tweet funny because she doesn’t believe that human-driven climate change is real and is willing to piledrive Bill Nye through a table if she has to.)

This sly swirl of funny and frightening sparked a lot of reactions after it made its way into the world. Maybe not as many reactions as when he suggests something might not be right in Gravity or pokes holes in the fabric of The Terminator, but it’s been a delight to see the range of reactions to an A+ tweet. Let’s hop in the replymobile, shall we? Look out for trolls.
