This story was sent to me two days ago, but I think that I fainted and drifted off into a wonderful dreamscape where calories meant nothing and everything came cream-filled. Regardless the folks at PYT in Philadelphia have once again added another ridiculous notch to their ever-growing belt with this deep-fried Twinkies burger that, as I’m sure you can guess, features a hamburger that uses Twinkies as buns.
Twinkies as buns.
You know, people say that innovation in America is dead, but it’s clear that they’ve never visited PYT.
As for the complete breakdown of ingredients, I’ll let Zagat’s Danya Henninger drop some food poetry on you…
Twin deep-fried and battered Twinkies serve as the bun for the new creation, sandwiching a 50-50 pork belly and beef patty that’s topped with strips of crispy bacon and American cheese. When you bite into the calorie monster, sweet Twinkie filling oozes out and mixes with all the salty flavor from the meat and cheese, making a combo that’s actually not half bad.
That’s because it’s all bad!
I kid, I kid. But just to give you an idea of how people are reacting to such a monstrosity of flavor, PYT posted these videos of one customer’s thoughts on the nuclear calorie bomb that was just dropped on her.
