WWE Live Smackdown Open Discussion Thread 1/29/15

These guys might be there. Sadly snowed-in Raw’s red curtain and fake plant probably won’t show.

Hey look, a Smackdown open discussion thread! Brought to you by over-hyped weather events!

This Sunday, the Royal Rumble signaled The Road to WrestleMania. Now, thanks to the snow storm earlier this week, SmackDown will be the first show in front of the WWE Universe since the epic pay-per-view. If that weren’t exciting enough, the “Hottest Show on Thursday Night” is going to be LIVE!

Tonight, the stakes could not be higher and there is no doubt that the blue brand will deliver once again with a whole new slew of action, surprises and extraordinary moments. With The Showcase of the Immortals on the horizon, look to see a number of Superstars make a statement and prove that they have what it takes to stand on The Grandest Stage of Them All right out of the gate. Whatever happens, one thing is for sure: You can’t afford to miss a second of tonight’s live action. (via WWE)

The five-point preview:

1) Earlier this week rumor was they were just going to re-use Monday’s Raw script for Smackdown, and guys like Brock Lesnar and John Cena would be there, but you don’t want Smackdown thinking it can put on airs, so the new word is most of the important guys have been pulled. In other words, the show might open with Brock Lesnar F5-ing Roman Reigns or an Usos vs. Rhodes match. I know what my money’s on.

2) Nikki Bella lines up the entire Divas division and knocks their heads together Newton’s cradle-style with a single forearm.

3) What happened to Miz and Mizdow at the Rumble won’t be followed up in any major way, but will still be the most emotionally satisfying/devestating part of the show.

4) The crew will run into a problem while setting up the Kane/Daniel Bryan casket match, when they find Dolph Ziggler taking a nap in the box. Y’know, just to try it out.

5) WWE will wish they could crowd-sweeten a live show.

+1 your favorite funny/smart comments and 10 will be included with the Smackdown report. Enjoy weird, live, recycled Raw Smackdown!
