Watch The Birth Of Austin 3:16 And Much More In Nine Minutes Of ‘WWE 2K16’ Footage

So far, most of our coverage of WWE 2K16 has focused on the massive 120-character-strong roster, which is impressive and all, but how does the game actually play? Will this year’s Showcase mode featuring Stone Cold Steve Austin measure up? Well, thankfully, WWE and 2K Games have released a bunch of new gameplay footage that sheds some much-needed light on WWE 2K16.

First up, at the top of the post, we have Steve Austin’s iconic win over Jake Roberts at the 1996 King of the Ring from this year’s Showcase mode above. It looks like they’re trying to tell more of the story in-engine (as opposed to with old clips) than in year’s past.

We also have a few matches for you, including Finn Balor vs. Kevin Owens, Tyson Kidd & Cesaro vs. Lucha Dragons and, last but not least, Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins.

Woof. Well, the commentary is as terrible as it always is in these games. That said, the in-ring action is looking a bit more fluid than it was last year. Of course, I have a feeling (a strong feeling) it won’t work quite so smoothly when my no-skills-having self is in control. What about you folks? What are your WWE 2K16 impressions?
