Wrestling Legend Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger Could Be Working More Dates For WWE

Hey, remember when Jushin “Thunder” Liger wrestled Tyler Breeze on the WWE Network this past Saturday? No, really, it wasn’t just some fever dream, that sh*t actually happened. And now it might be happening again.

Originally WWE promoted Liger’s match at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn as a one-time-only thing, but according to the Wrestling Observer, those plans have changed. Independent promoters trying to book Liger have been told most upcoming dates have already been snapped up by WWE, and word is, Liger may have signed a deal similar to the ones WWE gave Samoa Joe and Rhyno. Liger probably won’t be around quite as often as Joe or Rhyno, as he still has commitments to New Japan, but chances of him becoming a semi-regular NXT character look strong.

WWE has already begun teasing more Liger, as Tyler Breeze claimed he wasn’t done with Liger on this week’s episode of NXT.

So, now that the Shooting Star himself may be hanging around NXT for a while, who would you like to see him matched up against (aside from Breeze, of course)? Finn Balor and Hideo Itami are obvious choices, but there’s also plenty of opportunities for more wacky pairings. I will consider it a missed opportunity if Bull Dempsey doesn’t eat at least one Liger Bomb.
