Tonight, on the With Spandex WWE Smackdown Live open discussion thread:
As they prepare to go to war at The Biggest Party of the Summer, WWE World Champion Dean Ambrose and his No. 1 Contender Dolph Ziggler will stand face-to-face on “Miz TV” with the A-Lister egging them on. What could possibly go wrong?
Our five-point preview:
1. Smackdown Live is for once the actual, real go-home show for a major pay-per-view. It’s not just rehashing stuff that happened on Raw any more; it’s rehashing stuff that happened on Raw AND on last week’s Smackdown!
2. We’re being promised that the women’s and tag-team divisions will continue to heat up. There’s clearly a target on American Alpha’s backs as they’re being positioned as the (American) alphas of the tag scene. Maybe we’ll get a tournament for those new titles starting next week?
3. What will keep Eva Marie from wrestling THIS time around? You would think a meteor hitting her opponent would be out of the question, but you never know what sort of strings Eva Marie can pull. She’s from Concord, you know.
4. We’ll probably get at least one more Smackdown match added to SummerSlam (Kickoff), and my money is on Baron Corbin vs. Kalisto. Unless they blow it off this week. Because why not, right?
5. Miz is hosting an Ambrose-Ziggler confrontation on Miz TV this week, instead of addressing his IC title match against Apollo Crews. I guess that’s because he’s a professional.
