Remember when Sami Zayn showed up in the Royal Rumble to eliminate Kevin Owens? Remember when he didn’t show up again, and nobody really talked about it?
According to the latest rumor from the Observer, it looks like that’ll be coming back around: Sami Zayn is currently booked to compete in an undisclosed match at WrestleMania 32 in Texas in April, and will be a part of the annual European tour that follows.
Our thoughts:
The obvious choice is a match with Kevin Owens, who is currently complaining about not having a WrestleMania opponent. Whether that’d be a one-on-one match for the Intercontinental Championship (yes please) or a multi-person match with guys like Dolph Ziggler and The Miz remains to be seen. Maybe we’re getting another Intercontinental Championship ladder match this year?
The other important note — and again, this comes with some spoilers I won’t make explicit, if you’re trying to avoid that kind of thing — is that NXT TakeOver: Dallas happens the same weekend. If you want to know what Zayn’s doing there and haven’t already noticed the world being a little brighter, click here.
Is WWE transitioning Sami Zayn to the main roster with one of the best wrestling weekends a performer can have? Let’s hope so.
