The folks at WWE were probably rooting for the Thunder to beat Golden State in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals. Because Game 7 would go right up against WWE Raw. WWE seemed to know their big Memorial Day show would get destroyed against one of the most-anticipated games of the season, as indicated by the fact they timed John Cena’s return to coincide with halftime. WWE was absolutely right to be nervous as Game 7 resulted in the highest rated NBA game in cable television history:
The @warriors–@Thunder game averaged 15.9 million viewers, most-viewed cable NBA telecast of all time & TNT’s most-watched program ever.

The highest rated show on TNT? That’s even higher than Glacier’s debut on Nitro! RAW did have one unexpected viewer, though: Klay Thompson’s dad Mychal Thompson. The Splash Daddy opted to watch RAW instead of the pivotal match between his son and the Thunder because his nerves couldn’t take it.
Mychal Thompson says he was nervous and couldn't bear to watch Game 7, so he watched Monday Night Raw instead.

Now all I want to do is talk to Mychal Thompson about basketball and the return of the Bullet Club and how to best book Fandango and Tyler Breeze. This is a fascinating development. The Thompson family has become a revelation over the last year. We now know there’s WWE being watched in the house and we also know that Klay is a huge Harry Potter fan. He’s basically all of us, but he can make baskets from 30 feet away.
