Oh, Conor McGregor. You truly are a chameleon of allegiances and interests. Well, that’s not accurate; he’s always been loyal to and interested in money. Just a couple of months ago, the UFC double champion was running down any wrestler or wrestling fan he could. Now that he’s on a brief sabbatical and WWE is making waves about trying to get him in the fold, his camp is all smiles and “we’ll sees.”
During ESPN’s 5ive Rounds podcast on Tuesday, Conor McGregor’s agent, Audie Attar, confirmed what many of us suspected all along: if there’s money involved, Conor will consider it. And if the money is good enough (which WWE is usually pretty good at managing), he’ll be there.
“I think it’s all about business, man,” Attar said. “If [WWE] is going to come with an offer, we are willing to entertain it. We are here. Have their people call his people — which is me. We can have a conversation.”
Attar wouldn’t even rule out Conor having a match, if the price is right. That gushing sound you hear is Vince McMahon’s projectile salivating.
“Again, I think ultimately Conor will say, ‘Let me talk to my friend Benjamin [Franklin] to see how many of his friends he’s bringing with him before we talk about what the obligations are,'” Attar said.
Attar had kind words for Triple H for showing up to UFC 205 and giving support to McGregor. So McGregor’s camp is open to anything, and now they’re nothing but friendly, because Conor has always been the purest of wrestling heels: he’ll say anything to sell a fight, and will be friends with anyone who ponies up that dough.
