Jerry Lawler Wasn’t Impressed By The House Of Horrors Match, Either

Sunday night’s WWE Payback pay-per-view ended up being very good, apart from one very notable and talked-about blemish smack dab in the middle. That would be the “House of Horrors” match between Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt. No one had any idea what the match’s rules would be for weeks leading up to the event, and the end result was GHOST TRACTORS AND BABY DOLLS.

Apart from “so bad it’s good” appreciation of Orton, Wyatt and WWE’s dedication to the match (and let’s be real: kudos to them for committing to this idea, no matter the outcome), fans were … not kind to the House of Horrors. Their opinion didn’t even soften when they found out you can actually BUY said horrific house for rock-bottom prices.

We’ve traced the call of one of the people who weren’t fans of the match and … IT’S COMING FROM INSIDE THE COMPANY. On the latest edition of his “Dinner With the King” podcast, Hall of Fame announcer Jerry “The King” Lawler talked about how he was underwhelmed by the House of Horrors. (Transcript via Wrestlezone.)

“I was so looking forward to the House of Horrors match because I’m such a big horror movie fan. I’m such a fan of these kind of things. I was really, really excited about this. The WWE, they have the opportunity and they have the people to put together some really great special effects. I guess my problem was I got my expectations up too high. I guess I expected more scary stuff. I’m not scared of baby dolls.”

Keep your eyes peeled for the “I’m not scared of baby dolls” shirt, probably coming very soon to Pro Wrestling Tees.
