Chris Jericho’s Chances Of Being At WrestleMania 34 Got A Lot Smaller Thanks To A New Fozzy Tour

Chris Jericho is probably not going to be a part of WrestleMania 34 next year. It’s sad to say that, but based on his current schedule with his band Fozzy, it’s unlikely that he will have time to be a part of WWE’s biggest show of the year. Jericho’s next scheduled wrestling appearance will be for New Japan’s Wrestle Kingdom 12 show on January 4, which was announced in November.

Regarding the new Fozzy tour, here’s information on their schedule that will keep them busy from February 28 in New Orleans to April 8 in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire.

The April 8 date is the one that sticks out the most, because that’s the night of WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans. Since Jericho has a booking that day, it’s unlikely that he would be able to be in New Orleans, although if the Fozzy gig was an afternoon show, he could potentially jump on a plane and make it. Chances of that happening are also slim, because he is booked through most of March, so he wouldn’t be on WWE TV, either.

Jericho commented on his excitement about Fozzy’s American spring tour in a press release.

“I’m stoked to do this extensive tour of the States now that ‘Judas,’ the song, is a Top 5 rock radio hit and Judas, the album, has gone top 40! Fozzy is bigger than we’ve ever been, which means bigger production, bigger songs and bigger lighted jackets! So we can’t wait to rock your literal socks off starting in February!! JUDAS IS RISING!”

What’s not known is when Jericho may come back to WWE. It was mentioned by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio that Jericho hasn’t committed to working more than one match for NJPW, but it might happen. That could be part of the reason why he’s not going to be a part of WrestleMania. If you’re wondering, Jericho has had 14 matches at WrestleMania, which is the sixth most of all-time, tied with Bret Hart.

Also, if you follow Jericho on Twitter, you know he has a huge wrestling and rock cruise coming in October. WWE has no involvement with that cruise, while Ring of Honor is a major, featured act. As we covered a few weeks ago, Jericho asked WWE to have their NXT brand be a part of it, but they passed, at which point Jericho reached out to ROH.
