WWE’s Ruby Riott Will Be Out For A While Following Two Shoulder Surgeries

WWE

Ruby Riott has been off of WWE TV for a while, with her last match on Raw ending in a loss to Becky Lynch on April 15. After wrestling on house shows and Main Event through May 17, she will be out of action completely for several months after what WWE.com describes as “a bilateral injury to her right shoulder.”

As summed up “One down, one to go,” caption for the post above, Riott will get the same surgery for the same injury on her left shoulder in the future.

Riott’s injury comes after the break-up (by the Superstar Shake-Up) of her Riott Squad faction with Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan after the latter was traded to the blue brand. It seemed like splitting up could revitalize the careers of these women who come the go-to heel jobbers of Raw, but neither Morgan nor Logan has performed on a WWE TV show or PPV since the WrestleMania 35 women’s battle royal.

The 28-year-old Riott always received more exposure as the leader of the group and competed in multiple women’s championship matches, though none it seemed likely she would win, after being called up to Smackdown from NXT in November 2017. As a talented performer and reliable in-ring worker, her presence will definitely be welcome back on TV when she’s healed up.
