Tyler Breeze Is Happy To Be Back In NXT

There’s been a lot of talk over the past few years about NXT as its own brand, rather than just developmental, and whether that opens the door for Superstars from Raw and Smackdown to move back to NXT without it being seen as a demotion. In these discussions, the common belief that NXT books most performers better than the Main Roster comes into conflict with the expectation that a person’s career should be a constant climb from the “bottom” to the “top” and any other trajectory represents failure. In any case, despite all this discussion of the idea, nobody’s ever really moved from Raw or Smackdown to NXT outside of an occasional temporary visit. Until Tyler Breeze.
After a guest appearance a few months back, Tyler Breeze returned to NXT just in time to face Velveteen Dream for the North American Championship at TakeOver XXV. He lost that match, but he reestablished himself as the “fashion model who can totally go in the ring” character that he always was in NXT, before he joined the Fashion Police and starred in a wildly popular series of comedy vignettes on Smackdown that never led to any wrestling success whatsoever.

Yesterday on Twitter, Breeze encouraged fans to ask him questions. One thing he established very quickly is that he had a hand in moving to NXT, and he’s happy to be there:

At the same time, he made it clear that he’s not going to kvetch about his booking on the Main Roster or WWE’s creative process:

But neither does he have a negative word to say about Jon Moxley choosing to leave the company:

In a business where people are always attracting heat with the things they say, whether on purpose or by accident, Tyler seems to be striking a good balance and keeping a positive attitude, which is an encouraging thing to see.
