Here’s Why A Popular WWE Tag Team Won’t Be At SummerSlam

WWE

WWE SummerSlam 2019 won’t include a match for the Raw Tag Team Champions currently held by Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson (as far as we know), but several tag team wrestlers will be working SummerSlam weekend doing meet & greets in Toronto. One popular duo that won’t be in Canada at all, however, is the Usos, and according to a report from PWInsider, that’s because Jimmy Uso can’t get into the country.

Uso was arrested for a DUI in July, days after John Cena alluded to he and his brother’s previous incidents with the law enforcement in a Doctor of Thuganomics-style rap at the Raw Reunion. (Jey Uso was arrested for a DUI in January 2018 and Jimmy and his wife, Naomi, had an incident with police earlier this year.)

WWE released a statement to the media outlets that the wrestler “is responsible for his own personal actions.” So far, there hasn’t been any sign on WWE programming that the Usos are being treated differently after this arrest, with them wrestling in a tag team championship match on July 29 with the Revival and the Good Brothers. As far as we know, Uso not being able to travel to Canada didn’t change any plans for the Raw Tag Team Championship at SummerSlam and only caused him to no longer be advertised for meet & greets for which he was previously scheduled.
