Xavier Woods Was Injured At A WWE Live Event In Australia

You never want to hear that a wrestler is injured for real, and especially not somebody as talented and likable as Xavier Woods. Woods, who’s one third of six-time WWE Tag Team Champions the New Day and also hosts UpUpDownDown on YouTube, was apparently injured in a Live Event match in Sydney, Australia, where he and Big E were wrestling the Revival.

Fans at the house show saw Woods hit the ropes after being thrown, and then quickly fall down and grab his leg. The ref threw up the X, and medical staff came out to examine Xavier while Big E and The Revival watched. They helped Woods to the back, and Big E admirably continued wrestling Dash and Dawson on his own, although he did lose.

Xavier Woods has since posted a gif about Achilles tendon injuries with an apology to Sydney, making the nature of his injury pretty clear.

We don’t yet know anything further about the severity of the injury or how long Woods will be out of action. The New Day will of course be able to continue as a tag team with Kofi Kingston joining Big E for matches, which may also give Kingston a distraction from recent unfortunate events. Nevertheless, here’s hoping Xavier makes a speedy recovery.
