Ja Rule’s Foot Locker Commercial Is A Hilariously Sad Look Into His Possible Future

It’s cool to see that Ja Rule is able to laugh at himself after years of being laughed at by fickle music fans who front like Ja didn’t have any hits or wasn’t good at this rapping thing. Sorry, I get a little passionate about the Queens rapper’s career and the short end of the stick he recieved when 50 Cent smelled p**** and Ja became the laughing stock of hip-hop. The Meek Mill of the early aughts if you will.

Putting all that stuff behind him, Ja Rule’s taking the “if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em and cash a check” approach with a funny new commercial from Foot Locker. The ad starts with Ja driving a couple of guys returning from shopping at Foot Locker. They go on about the athletic store bringing back their annual “Week of Greatness” sale, and Ja bursts their bubble with a seemingly personal tale of having it all and then losing it.

“Once you find greatness, you hold on to it. You can lose it just like that. One minute you’re on top of the world and the next it’s all different,” Ja says. “It’s all different.” The commercial ends with the rapper dropping the guys off at their location and reminding them to rate him five stars.

Guys, Ja Rule is an Uber driver.

Save your “Always On Time” jokes. Actually, why didn’t they play that? Seems like a given. Whatever. If you’ll excuse me, I must go stream his entire discography because I’ll be damned if the man who gave New York one of its top 10 best anthems ends up an Uber driver!
