In the music world, things usually slow down a tad in December. Year-end lists are made, Grammy nominations roll out, and there’s little incentive to push anything new out before the start of the new year. Then, typically, something jolts the industry back into production in January, be it an album, a big new record, or a promising return of a superstar. Now, it seems we finally have that jolt — sorry Justin Timberlake — as Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith woke the entire music world up on Monday morning with a major announcement: TDE is going on tour.

And to say TDE as a collective is right, as Top Dawg announced Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, SZA, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, SiR and Lance Skiiwalker will all be embarking on the Championship Tour together, starting this May. It could be a Grammy victory lap of sorts, as Kendrick and SZA are up for big awards this weekend, as well as a sign of new music to come from the roster with the Black Panther soundtrack on the horizon and new music from Q, Jay Rock and everybody else seemingly being teased daily. Either way, it’s suddenly one of the most anticipated tours of the year, as it combines some of the best concerts from last year onto the same stage.
The tour kicks off in Vancouver on May 4th, and will hit places like Los Angeles, Oakland, Houston, New York, Boston, Chicago, Toronto, and seemingly everywhere in between. Presales for the tour go on sale on Tuesday, January 23rd with a rollout to the public continuing all week after that. Check out the tour dates below, and find more ticket information here.
