Tinashe may not be able to share her Joyride with fans just yet but she is giving them another full length project to hold them over in the meantime. The singer just released a new, surprise album titled Nightride on digital retailers.
The new release came without much warning as Tinashe mentioned it for the first time early Thursday on Twitter, meaning listeners didn’t have to wait long to get their hands on it. The singer wrote a note to fans finally letting them in on the secret Thursday. “I have been working on it quietly for nearly two years, alongside Joyride. This is the beginning of the journey, one piece of the puzzle that makes me who I am both as an artist and as a human.”
She continued, “Being human is about embracing the many different sides of you rather than trying to limit, label, or boy yourself in… Nightride is an expression of that duality. I’m so excited to share the first side with you now.”
The oft-delayed Joyride is set to release this spring. For now, fans can enjoy Nightride below via Spotify and the singer also released a new video for the title track to help usher in the project. The 15-song LP also includes the previously released songs “Company” and “Party Favors.”
