Let’s take a moment off from wildly speculating about new Frank Ocean music to wildly speculate about new Kanye West music. According to Women’s Wear Daily, Kanye is holding his fourth major fashion event, Yeezy Season 4, on September 7.
While this is undoubtedly important news if you are a hypebeast, to the rest of us, it matters because Kanye has never held a Yeezy Season event without premiering new music. Yeezy Season 1 brought us our first taste of The Life of Pablo with the track “Wolves.” Yeezy Season 2 featured the track “Fade.” And we all know what went down at Yeezy Season 3.
So, could new Kanye be in the works? Will this be our first glimpse of Turbo Grafx 16? There’s no telling. While Kanye has always premiered new music at Yeezy Season events, it’s worth noting that all of the former events were put on while West was working on Pablo. Considering that he’s barely past the point where he’s stopped tinkering with that release, it’s hard to say if he’ll have anything new to offer.
As for the actual event, it falls on the first afternoon of New York Fashion Week and will compete with shows by Tom Ford and the swanky re-opening of the 5th Avenue Cartier.
