UFC 199 is sort of a complicated beast to think about, because the whole thing was (to use a medical term) crazy balls bananacakes. It was a night of underdog glory and thrilling action, and the fights weren’t just limited to the Octagon, either. Subtract the turd in the punchbowl that was the UFC taking away media credentials and you’ve got a standout show on your hands.
Arriving as a reminder that UFC 199 was pretty darn good is a highlight reel showcasing some devastating strikes dished out in slow motion. Or “Fight Motion,” if you prefer. There’s something oddly hypnotic about seeing these competitors absorb so much punishment. Dong Hyun Kim getting pummeled at the hands of Marco Polo Reyes somehow seems even more vicious when it’s displayed at a glacial pace. Thanks, technology!
Clocking in at just over two minutes, this video doesn’t overstay its welcome (if slo-mo kicked in the face videos can do that) and doubles as a bit of a nudge to give Saturday’s Fight Night card a gander. The UFC has been doing a bang-up job in the video department and this continues the trend. We look forward to seeing Brock Lesnar captured in the slowest of mo’s when UFC 200 goes down in July.
