Thanos has been a looming presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for a while now, but viewers have yet to see him stretch the full extent of his powers. The last few Marvel films have been almost exclusively earthbound, so we haven’t seen much of the supreme being since Guardians Of The Galaxy. That’s about to change with the launching of Avengers: Infinity War, and it’s going to take pretty much every superhero in Marvel’s stable to bring him down.
As fans wait impatiently for the next installment — let’s face it, everyone got a bit more excited again after Captain America: Civil War — Josh Brolin, Thanos himself, is here to assure them that Infinity War is going to deliver on the hype. In a recent interview with Moviefone, Brolin spoke about his first reaction to hearing what’s to come.
Yeah, I sat at a table and I listened to the story from beginning to end, which was … you know, sometimes you go around and you go, “Oh, it’s a great movie. Or this is a great experience,” and you kind of know that it’s not. This is the opposite.
So, it’s definitely better than Jonah Hex.
It all comes down … these stories … these Avengers stories all come down to this conclusion, and that’s our involvement. Basically, my character against everybody. And it’s really fun what they’ve chosen to do with the story. I think it’s brilliant, personally. I was blown away, and had goose pimples pretty much 50% of the time that I was listening to what was going on, and pretty amazed that I’m going to be involved in it. So it’s a big thing that’s coming up.
As if fans needed another reason to get jazzed about the ultimate Avengers showdown, Brolin’s vote of confidence will certainly add fuel to that fire. Now, there’s just that pesky wait until 2018.
