VIDEO: Trump on Cruz: “He started it.” Cooper: “That’s the argument of a 5-year-old.” https://t.co/P5xxdMd4R5

The CNN Republican town hall on Tuesday was a showcase of a lot of the same junk we’ve seen since the beginning of the campaign’s last year. Heidi Cruz watched her husband mispronounce words and defend his plans to patrol Muslim neighborhoods, John Kasich hit on a lady in the audience and decided to stand the entire time, and Donald Trump went on the defensive about being Donald Trump.
But the key moment came from Anderson Cooper in reference to Trump’s continued chatter against Heidi Cruz and the very unflattering photo of her on Twitter. During the one of their many back and forth chats during the event, Cooper brought up the image and Trump did his thing:
“I thought it was a nice picture of Heidi,” Trump said of an image he retweeted clearly meant to make her look unattractive compared to his wife. “Come on,” Anderson Cooper responded. “I thought it was fine,” Trump insisted. Continuing to deny culpability he said, “I didn’t start it.” Cooper sensibly retorted “that’s the argument of a 5-year-old.”
This is likely about a year too late to get a round of public applause, but it does go along with CNN’s continued idea of losing their patience with the current election.
