Chris Jericho has two passions in this life: pro wrestling and music. (Well, actually, his third passion if you’ve read his books might be working the phrase “taking a dumpski” into prose.) (And maybe his fourth passion — based on Southpaw Regional Wrestling and his “Talking Shop” podcasts with The Club — would be surprisingly bad thick Canadian accents.) (But I digress.)
Wrestling fans have known for a while that Jericho’s longstanding band, Fozzy, was working on a new album and gearing up for a new tour. Both of those things are nearly upon us, as we now have a new single, “Judas,” which will also serve as the official theme song for NXT TakeOver: Chicago on May 20.
The new song, which premiered on Tuesday over at Loudwire, also has a brand-spanking-new video. Check it out:
Jericho had the following take on “Judas,” which is pretty much the most Chris Jericho way you could imagine of him explaining his music. Drink it in, maaaaannnnnn:
“For such a dark and sexy song like ‘Judas’, we wanted a dark and sexy video to match…and we got that and more! In one take we filmed a unique, visually stunning masterpiece that combines an incredible song, psycho clowns, hot chicks, a man on fire and a great rock n roll band, all in one tasty video morsel. What more could you want…a giant rabbit holding balloons? Oh yeah, we’ve got that too!”
Fozzy also announced via press release what appears to be the full set of dates for their tour (not including some European festivals this summer). The band’s touring schedule has, of course, been the source of much speculation about Jericho taking time off from WWE, and/or how thoroughly he will be able to be around to defend his freshly-won United States Championship on Smackdown.
