It’s really a wonderful day for mash-ups. First we had Arthur getting glorious, now we’ve got the perfect coda to Conor McGregor’s bottle-flinging antics from last week.
If you somehow missed out on Conor’s brouhaha, here’s the full story: McGregor showed up late for his pre-UFC 202 press conference, because that’s just the sort of thing that Conor does on a regular basis. When he finally got there, he and Nate Diaz had one of their typical heated exchanges before the two camps began throwing bottles at each other — something for which they might face lawsuits!
As a result of the fracas, both McGregor’s and Diaz’s posses were banned from UFC 202 itself, although they all took to social media to continue flipping out and talking smack. McGregor would go on to win that UFC 202 fight on Saturday, although there is some debate about the validity of that decision victory. And some people were really upset about the whole thing.
Regardless, we prefer to think that McGregor’s actions at the press conference were actually what was outlined above: the Irish fighter just saw Steve Austin in the crowd and attempted to beer him from way downtown.
And let’s be honest: every single one of us would beer Steve Austin if we could. We’d beer him so good.
