When he’s not hosting his own WWE Network show, or starring in WWE Studios films about bomb squads (sexy bomb squads), or getting grilled by Steve Austin, Edge (aka Adam Copeland) has been known to strike out on his own and really get out there and act it up. On Wednesday, it was announced that he’ll be joining Vikings (which airs on History) for a recurring role in the show’s 20-episode fifth season.
The full scoop on Edge’s recurring role, via Deadline:
Copeland will play Ketill Flatnose, a fierce and brave warrior, chosen by Floki to be one of the leaders of the Viking party intent on traveling to Iceland to set up a community there.
Having never seen a single episode of the show before and not knowing anything about it other than that it is presumably about vikings (basing that just off the title), that is a thoroughly impressive tub of word soup that I just blockquoted. Although “Ketill Flatnose” would be a good name for your clothes iron, if you’re into naming your possessions.
Copeland will be joining fellow new cast member Jonathan Rhys Meyers, so gird your loins, fans of gorgeous men.
Edge is no stranger to basic cable, of course, as he had a regular role on SyFy’s Haven for years. But in my opinion, Vikings would have been better off if they had added Scott Steiner. Valhalla if you hear me.
