Ring Of Honor Posted A Vintage Match Between Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, And Kenny Omega

Somehow, wrestling fans blinked and suddenly the WWE main roster is filled with people who used to be icons in Ring of Honor, or at the very least had long and successful runs there. Daniel Bryan, Samoa Joe and AJ Styles were some of ROH’s earliest stars, and from Kevin Owens to Sami Zayn to Austin Aries to Cesaro, WWE is comprised of a bunch of ROH alums.

ROH has been posting Throwback Thursday videos for a while now, but this week’s installment is of particular interest and relevance. This triple threat match from Bound By Hate in Markham, Ontario in November of 2008 pits Bryan Danielson and finisher buddies Tyler Black and Kenny Omega against each other. It’s pretty great, and you should check it out.

The end stretch of the match is particularly brutal, as at one point, Danielson actually legitimately busts Omega’s eye open with a rolling elbow. That is horrifying. This was during Danielson’s pre-WWE run as the very best wrestler in the entire world, a mantle he would retain all the way up until his retirement.

Oh, and by the way: this 2008 event in Canada had a main event of Jay and Mark Briscoe failing to wrest the ROH Tag Team Championship away from Kevin Steen and El Generico … whoever those guys are.
